Uninstall SAP Integration Hub from SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

You remove SAP Integration Hub with the same gCTS repository that you use to install and update it. The delivered objects can only be removed when nothing in the tenant references them anymore, so you delete your own dependent objects first.

What is removed

Uninstallation deletes the tables of the add-on and everything stored in them. This cannot be undone from within the tenant. The following data is lost:

  • The API definitions saved from the Hub API Designer

  • All log records, if logging was enabled

Identifying legally relevant data is the joint responsibility of Neptune Software and you. Secure it before you start.

You do not need to export the add-on tables to install SAP Integration Hub again later. Secure the following instead:

  • Data provider classes. Export or back up your classes so that you can reuse them after a reinstallation. You delete them during the procedure.

  • Log records. If log records are relevant for audits, export them before you start. See Delete log records.

Prerequisites

  • No development or transport activity is in progress in the tenant.

  • The consumers of your APIs have been informed that the APIs will become unavailable.

Procedure

  1. Secure the data listed in What is removed.

  2. Delete your data provider classes that implement /neptune/if_dxp_api_dpc. A class that still implements the interface blocks the removal of the add-on objects.

  3. Delete the communication arrangement based on /NEPTUNE/DXP_CS_INBND. The arrangement depends on the delivered communication scenario and must be removed before the scenario is withdrawn.

  4. Delete the communication system that represents Neptune DXP - Open Edition, and then its communication user.

You created both objects yourself, so the gCTS pull does not remove them. Before you delete them, check that no other integration uses them.

  5. Unassign users from the business roles that you created from the business role template /NEPTUNE/DXP_BRT_ADMIN, and delete those business roles.

  6. In the gCTS app, select the repository that is connected to https://github.com/neptune-software/dxp-sap-integration-hub-public-s4.

  7. In the commit history of the main branch, select the commit named Initial Commit, and pull it.

Initial Commit contains none of the add-on objects, so gCTS removes the objects that the later commits delivered.

  8. Check that gCTS reports the pull as successful, and review the log for objects that could not be deleted.

For the general SAP procedure, see the SAP Help Portal on products delivered with multi-off delivery.

Result

  • The /NEP/ and /NEPTUNE/ objects of the add-on are no longer present in the tenant.

  • The APIs that were served through SAP Integration Hub no longer respond.

If an object could not be removed or the pull reports errors, raise a ticket in the Neptune Software support portal and attach the gCTS log.

Next steps

The gCTS pull does not change Neptune DXP - Open Edition. If you no longer need the connection, delete the remote system that points to the tenant in Remote Systems.
