Remove specific online licenses

To make your license available for a different installation, you have to remove it from the system the license is currently activated for. The License Configuration wizard in the System Settings tool enables you to manage your license. You can also remove your license via Neptune DXP Portal.

Prerequisites

  • You have at least one active online customer or trial license.

Procedure

Remove your license in the License Configuration wizard in the System Settings

  • In the Cockpit, go to System Settings.

  • Select the License tab.

  • Select Edit.

  • Select Manage License.

    Result: The License Configuration wizard opens.

    Any license change will trigger a page reload.

  • In step 1, confirm the note by selecting Step 2.

  • In step 2, Online License is active by default. Confirm by selecting Step 3.

  • In step 3, enter your customer ID and confirm by selecting Step 4.

  • In step 4, deselect the environment in the license you want to remove and confirm by selecting Save and Reload.

    You can deselect specific online licenses in the License Configuration wizard at the same time you are activating online licenses and combine your license configuration efforts.

    Result: After the page reload the deselected license will be deactivated.

    To make sure the license removal is fully completed, wait until the System Settings tool is reloaded.

Remove your license via Neptune DXP Portal

Removing your license via Neptune DXP Portal depends on the license type.

If you have a trial license, do the following:

  1. In Neptune DXP Portal, go to Your Account.

    The Your Account dialog opens.

  2. In the Trial License Details for Customer ID section, locate the trial license and select (Detach License).

    Result: The server restarts and deactivates the license.

If you have an active online customer license, do the following:

  1. In Neptune DXP Portal go to Account Assignment.

    Result: The My Accounts page opens.

  2. Select the account for the installation for which you want to remove the license.

  3. In License Management → License Details, select the installation for which you want to remove the license.

  4. Remove the license by selecting (Detach License).

    Result: The server restarts and deactivates the license.

Result

The licenses can now be used in a different installation.
