Manually delete logs

In this topic, you learn how to manually delete logs from Neptune DXP - Open Edition in the Housekeeping tool as part of a one-time cleanup procedure.

Prerequisites

  • Logs have been created for the relevant log types that you want to delete

Procedure

  1. In the Cockpit, select the Housekeeping tool.

    Result: You start in the Manual tab.

  2. In Table, select the checkboxes of the log types you want to delete.

  3. In Keep, select the desired retention period. The default retention periods according to the log type are recommended retention periods for the specific log type. Logs that exceed the selected retention period are deleted. You can select the following retention periods:

    • Keep 3 month

    • Keep 2 month

    • Keep 1 month

    • Keep 1 week

    • Keep nothing

  4. Select Delete Now.

Delete expired principal propagation certificates

User certificates of the type SAP Principal Propagation remain in the system after they expire. You can delete all expired certificates of this type in one step.

  1. In the Cockpit, select the Housekeeping tool.

  2. Select SAP Principal Propagation Certificates.

  3. Select Delete Now.

    Result: All expired user certificates of the type SAP Principal Propagation are deleted. Certificates that have not expired remain.

Results

  • You have deleted logs manually from Neptune DXP - Open Edition.

  • If you selected a retention period, you retain logs that are within the retention period.
