Roles in applications

Restrict users accessing applications

  1. Open the App Designer and select an application you would like to restrict

  2. In Application Settings, go to the Roles panel and add a role.

Now, only users assigned to that role can use the application.

Restrict actions within applications

To restrict or allow users to access specific areas within the application, you will need to retrieve the list of roles assigned to the current user.

AppCache.userInfo.roles
AppCache will work only if the application is running inside a launchpad

Roles in tiles and tile groups

Control visibility of tiles (applications) or tile groups (groups of applications) by assigning the desired roles.
