Process Flows user interfaces at a glance
Process Flows contains two connected Cockpit tools: the Process Flow Designer, where you build a process flow, and the Process Flows Overview, where you monitor one. This topic shows the parts of each.
Process Flow Designer
The Process Flow Designer is where you build a process flow: the canvas, its nodes, and the data it works with.
The Process Flow Designer has the following parts:
- General tab

The process flow name, its package, and run settings.
- Interface tab

The data contract of the process flow. See Define the interface.
- Canvas

The visual diagram of the process flow. You drag nodes onto it and connect them with flows to set the order. See Create the process flow.
- Nodes

The steps of the process flow, such as Run Script, Decision, User Task, and Send Email. Selecting a node opens its details. See Node reference.
- Inputs panel

On the left of an open node. It lists the interface inputs and previous outputs you can drag onto the node. See How data moves through a process flow.
- Outputs panel

On the right of an open node. It exposes the values the node produces so later steps can read them.
- Role tab

The runtime permissions for the process flow. See Design-time and runtime permissions.
- Toolbar

The Test and Save actions, and a notifications panel that reports the checks a process flow must pass before it can be saved.
Process Flows Overview
The Process Flows Overview is where you monitor process flows. Where the Process Flow Designer is for building a process flow, this tool is for watching what happens when one runs. It has two screens: a list of every execution, and a read-only detail view of a single execution.
Overview screen
The landing screen lists every execution, most recent first.
- Executions table

One row per execution, showing its status, the process flow name, who triggered it and from where, when it started, and how long it ran. See Execution and node statuses.
- Filters

Narrow the list by date, trigger, process flow, and status. The filters apply together.
- Row actions

The actions available for a row depend on its status, such as Stop for an execution that is still running.
Detail screen
Selecting a row opens the read-only detail view of that execution.
- Header

The process flow name, a status badge, the execution identifier, and who triggered it.
- Execution summary

The key facts of the run at a glance.
- Flow Canvas

A read-only rendering of the process flow that colors each node by how the run went, so you can see the exact path the run took. See Execution and node statuses.
- Execution Timeline

A step-by-step list of the run. Selecting a step reveals the inputs it received and the outputs it produced, so you can trace a value through the whole run.
