Configure icon display
Icon display configures a field to render a static icon instead of textual or numeric content. Icons can be used to visually convey status, type, or meaning without requiring user input.

Business use case
Icon display supports visual clarity and quick interpretation of information. Key scenarios include:

Status indication: Represent states such as approved, warning, or inactive without text.

UI simplification: Reduce reliance on labels or values by conveying meaning visually.
Procedure
The following procedure uses the example of a status overview form to display an icon indicating whether a record represents an approved, pending, or restricted state.

In the Application tree, select the field where an icon should be displayed.

In the Settings/properties pane, set the field type to Icon.

In the Value section, set Source to Fixed Value.
Result: The Fixed Value field appears.

In Fixed Value, open the Icon Explorer and select an icon.
Example: Select a checkmark icon to represent an approved state.
Result: The selected icon is displayed for the field.

In the Shell bar, select Save.

In the Preview pane, confirm that the selected icon is displayed for the field.
