Add and configure a remote system to your system

In this topic, you learn how to add and configure a connection to a Neptune DXP Edition remote system.

Prerequisites

  • You know the credentials for the remote system that you want to connect to.

Procedure

  1. In the Cockpit, select the Remote Systems tool.

Result: A table of available remote systems is shown.

  2. Select Create.

Result: The Create System dialog opens.

  3. In Name, enter a meaningful name for the remote system.

  4. In Type, select the Neptune DXP module you want to start the connection from.

  5. In URL, enter the URL of the remote system.

  6. Select Create.

Result: You start in the General tab of the remote system.

  7. In Role, optionally select the role that the remote system obtains.

  8. In Package, optionally assign a development package that contains the connections to the other remote systems you want to copy to the remote system you want to add.

  9. Select Allow Untrusted Certificates, if needed.

  10. In the Authentication tab, enter the username and the password for the remote system you want to add. These can be the credentials of a user from the remote system.

Instead of adding a username and a password, you can add an existing proxy authentication in the Authentication tab.
  11. OPTIONAL: In Token you can enter a JSON web token from the remote system. Generate the token in the User tool.

  12. Select or clear Use client connection when deploying artifacts, as necessary.

  13. In Connection, select the Test connection symbol.

Result: Your system connects to the remote system, and informs you if the attempt was successful.

  14. Select Save.

Result: You have configured and added a remote system.
