Use agents in a launchpad

You can interact with your agents in your launchpad in the following ways:

  • Include an app that has your agents just like in Use agents in the App Designer which app you include in a tile within the launchpad

  • Enable the agent feature within your launchpad.

This section describes enabling the agent feature within your launchpad.

If you want to use the chatbot component out of the box without developing your own and then including it in the launchpad, you can select an agent on your launchpad and apply a few settings to get a fully working chatbot UI within your launchpad that can do whatever your agent already does, as well as:

  • Create conversations

  • Open applications (App Designer and adaptive applications) on a side panel

  • Perform tasks within the applications (see examples here)

Set up an agent for a launchpad

Open the Launchpad tool, select your launchpad and select the Agent tab. You must:

  • Select an agent

  • Apply optional customizations

  • Choose if you want to have as the first thing you see in your launchpad the chatbot which gives your launchpad a more chat based-focused launchpad. You can still navigate to your tiles and tile groups via the home button.

If this is done, then the agent has complete knowledge of your launchpad’s applications as long as you provide meaningful descriptions in each app. If an agent is selected, a button on the top right will appear that opens the chatbot.
