Deprecation of Translation option

From Neptune DXP - Open Edition version 24.14.0, the Translation option is deprecated, and is replaced by the application of centralized so-called i18n (internationalization) binding of translatable attributes on the basis of global (system) i18n models in the i18n Text & Translation tool.

Converting existing translations to i18n bindings

If you have existing translations for your application in the Adaptive Designer, when you open the Translations page in edit mode, you are prompted to convert all existing translations to i18n bindings by associating the translations to an existing i18n model, or creating a new i18n model, that itself is assigned to a development package, if a development package is required for the i18n model at the system level.

  • During conversion, all translation entries are replaced with corresponding i18n bindings. The Translation page is then hidden, as translations are managed directly through i18n binding in the I18n Text & Translation tool. The translations display as i18n bindings until you save the application, upon which the bindings display as the base text translation entries for attributes according to the i18n model.

  • If you choose not to convert, your preference is saved in your browser’s local storage, meaning it remembers your choice for this application on your device.

  • Only one app ID is remembered at a time. If you decline translation conversion in another app, the prompt appears again when you return to the first application.

  • You can refresh the page before activating the conversion to restore your previous setup, if needed.

Neptune recommends that you convert existing translations to i18n bindings to ensure that your translations are consistent and centrally maintainable.
