Shell bar

The shell bar is the uppermost part of the PDF Designer interface. It is always visible and provides access to template management actions and key controls.

PDF

Selecting PDF opens a drop-down menu with the following template management options:

  • Create creates a new PDF template.

  • Open opens an existing PDF template.

  • Delete deletes the current PDF template.

  • Export to File exports the current template to a .planet9 file.

  • Import from File imports a template from a .planet9 file.

Display and edit

Toggle between Edit and Display mode using the toggle in the shell bar. Editing is only possible in Edit mode.

Save

Saves the current state of your template.

Activate

Saves and activates the template, then refreshes the preview with all current changes applied. If the template contains syntax errors, activation is blocked until the errors are resolved.

Syntax Check

Runs a check for property value errors across all components in the template. Any errors are displayed in a panel with links to navigate directly to the affected components. Activation is not possible while syntax errors are present.

Preview

Runs a preview of the PDF in the Preview pane.
