Cockpit settings
Open the Cockpit settings by selecting your username in the top right corner in the shell bar.
You can change the following parameters:
Global
- Open Editors in:

To open tools from the Cockpit either in a new tab of a current browser or in a new browser window, select Tab or Window as desired.
The selection affects the following tools:

- Appearance
-
Choose between a
Lightappearance (default Neptune light appearance: Neptune Horizon Light), aDarkappearance (default Neptune dark appearance: Neptune Horizon Dark), orSystemto apply the appearance on the basis of your browser or operating system settings. Changes to the appearance are applied to the Cockpit and all tools in Neptune DXP - Open Edition.
Cockpit
Action Buttons
- Place to the left

Activate to move action buttons, for example, Add or Start, to the left side of your interface. By default, they are placed on the right side. This setting is not available in editors.
Tools Display
Choose your preferred layout display for tools and groups of tools on the Cockpit.
- Tiles
-
Displays tools in a tile-group layout
- Widgets
-
Displays tools in a gridded tool-group layout. The widget option is the default setting for tool display.
- Hidden
-
Hides tools and groups of tools from the Cockpit
Side Navigation
- Expand by default
-
The side navigation is expanded and fixed to full width when you go to the Cockpit.
- Expand on hover
-
When the side navigation is not fixed, and it expands when you hover over it.
- Show application recommendations
-
Application recommendations display in the side navigation of the Cockpit when certain applications are opened to recommend similar ones
- Show navigation menu

Displays Cockpit tool groups as icons in the side navigation. When you select a tool group icon, individual tools of a tool group are displayed for selection. To change the order of open Cockpit tools, drag and drop a tool to the desired position.
Favorites
Within individual tools or when tools are selected as Tiles or Widgets in Tile Display in the Cockpit settings on the Cockpit, you can select the star icon to add a tool to favorites. Favorite tools are displayed in the Cockpit search display after searching for a tool in the search bar.
- Widget

Displays selected favorite tools as grouped in a Favorites widget at the top of the Cockpit. The widget option is the default setting for favorites.
- Group

Displays selected favorite tools as grouped in a Favorites tile group on the Cockpit
- Hidden
-
Hides the Favorites widget or the Favorites tiles from the Cockpit. The selected favorite tools remain favorite tools despite hidden selection.
Recently Used Artifacts
Display recently used artifacts on the Cockpit for fast retrieval
- Widget
-
Displays the most recently used artifacts in a widget on the Cockpit. You can set display of the most recently used artifacts in groups of either six, twelve, eighteen, or twenty-four in the widget. The widget option is the default setting for recent artifacts.
- Hidden
-
Hides the widget from the Cockpit
Code editor
In editor tools, for example, the App Designer and the Script Editor, you only see global settings, code editor settings, and additional settings.
- Editor Theme
-
Choose from a large selection of in-built themes to apply to the code editor in the Preview pane of the App Designer.
The theme you select for the code editor takes precedence over the global Appearance settings. For example, if, in Appearance, you select a Darkappearance (default Neptune dark appearance: Neptune Horizon Dark), but you select a light theme in Editor Theme, the code editor in the Preview pane displays in a light appearance, and all other panes display in the default Neptune dark appearance. - Font Family

Only available in editors. Enter a font family.
- Font Ligature
-
Select to enable ligatures in text.
- Font size
-
Set the font size. Available sizes are 12-18 px.
- Word Wrap
-
Decide if there is a scroll bar in editors when a code line gets too long or if it stops at a predefined line. Available properties are:

Off: There is no word wrap. The scroll bar adjusts to your screen size. -
On: There is no scroll bar. Wrap depends on the pane width. -
Word Wrap Column: There is a fixed width. If the length of the text exceed your screen size, a scroll bar appears. -
Bounded: There is the same width as withWord wrap columnbut the text wraps when the pane width of your screen size fall below this width.

- Cursor Surrounding Lines
-
Controls the number of lines Monaco aims to maintain above or below the cursor during keyboard scrolling.
- Show Folding Controls
-
Decide how you want to see folding controls for code sections, for example, for loops or if statements.
Alwaysshows them permanently,Mouse overshows them only when hovering over the gap between line numbers and code. - Scroll Beyond Last Line
-
Activate to enable scrolling beyond the last line of code, without empty lines. This only applies when the code is longer than the pane length.
- Enable Minimap
-
Activate to show a miniature version of the code in the script editing pane. Use the minimap to see where you are in the code.
- Enable Sticky Scroll
-
Stick the current scope to the top of code editors in designers to keep header code in view as you scroll down your code. Sticky Scroll is enabled by default in code editors. Sticky Scroll supports all code formats used in Neptune DXP - Open Edition, for example, JSON, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS.
- Format On Paste

Select or clear, as necessary.
- Format On Type

When enabled, all edited/opened scripts (including the CSS, HTML, and Web App Manifest files) are formatted using the Prettier opinionated code formatter on type. Select or clear, as necessary.
- Format On Save

When enabled, all edited/opened scripts (including the CSS, HTML, and Web App Manifest files) are formatted using the Prettier opinionated code formatter on save/activate. Select or clear, as necessary.
Adaptive Designer
- Preview Language
-
In the Adaptive Designer, to view translated element data defined in the Translation setting of the side navigation, select Preview Language.
- Enable Click to Select
-
For the adaptive list template and adaptive edit template, when selected, you can click component objects in the Preview pane to select them for use in the Application tree pane. For other templates, for example the adaptive calendar template or the adaptive grid template, you can select the Header/Settings top-level components in the Preview pane to select the component objects for use in the Application tree pane.
- Show Field Catalog

Show/hide the Field catalog pane within the Adaptive Designer.
Additional Settings
- System Settings

Opens the System Settings tool to select further system settings for Neptune DXP - Open Edition
- Custom Settings
-
Opens the Custom Setting tool to select further custom settings for Neptune DXP - Open Edition
- Change Password
-
Select to open a new dialog where you can set a new password. The option is only available if you are a local user of Neptune DXP - Open Edition. If you sign in through an identity provider, the option is not available as password change is managed through system settings, and role and permission management of your identity provider.
