Use field lookup for table/list fields in the adaptive list template

Use a field lookup to map a key-value structure of a field from another table definition to a field from the adaptive list template.

Prerequisites

  • You are using the adaptive list template for an adaptive application and have moved required fields of a table for your use case from the Data fields pane to the Application tree pane.

  • You have configured a table definition to use for the lookup.

  • You are in edit mode.

Procedure

  1. In the Application tree pane, select a field of a table to apply a lookup to.

  2. In the Settings/properties pane, in the Value section, select Lookup from the Source field.

    Result: The Lookup field and Settings button are displayed.

  3. Select the Settings button.

    Result: The Lookup dialog opens.

  4. To select a table definition to apply as a destination for the field lookup, in Table, select a table definition from the Table Definition dialog that opens.

  5. In Text Field, select the field from the selected table definition to apply for the field lookup.

  6. To hide the key-value pair, select Hide Key Value.

  7. In Field Mapping, select the source field against the target field of the table definition and select Use.

  8. In the shell bar, select Save.

Results

  • You have used a field lookup for a table/list field in the adaptive list template.

  • Displayed values for the table/list field correspond to the configured lookup settings.
